From enquiry, professional information and arranging a demonstration of the stove, communication has always been at a very good level. After the demonstration at the agreed location, we decided on the implementation, which took place in about 2 months. Due to the current “covid” situation it was unfortunately not possible to rush the implementation. We would like to thank your entire team for their professional approach not only regarding the construction of the stove, but also the friendly communication with the customer. And even after the implementation, when there was a small problem, which also occurred because of our inexperience with the operation of these stoves. Everything was resolved to our satisfaction and we are happy that the stove is serving us according to our wishes. We conclude with our experience, which other customers can use.

First experience with the akustone soapstone stove

1) When the stove is cold (the same applies to the chimney), the room would occasionally smoke when the stove was warming up. This can be avoided with a piece of advice retrieved from the internet: start with the motto “The house burns from the roof”. I warm up the stove by putting more wood down, and on top of this layer I put wood chips, which I set on fire. The initial flames are at the top of the stove and immediately start burning beautifully. I can open the bottom door without worrying about smoke entering the room. The fire gradually spreads to larger pieces and the stove starts to accumulate.

2) After this batch of wood has burned through, I wait until only hot embers remain in the stove. Contrary to all recommendations, I will close the bottom door and the bottom air intake vents. I can then open the firebox and add the rest of the wood without fear of smoke.

Once the fire is lit, I open the lower air intake to make the flame as big as possible.

3) After the wood has burned out, I close the bottom door and the damper to the chimney and enjoy the accumulated heat in the stove. I only need one wicker basket of wood for the day.

4) Finally, I want to add that the graphs about heat accumulation and its radiation to the surroundings do not lie. When I flood around 10am the next morning, my room is a lovely 19 degrees.
